New Delhi, June 30 -- Ranveer Singh has adopted a new fitness regime to fix his shoulder injury, and he's now a big fan of it.
The 29-year old actor, who underwent shoulder surgery after he hurt himself on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani, has turned to Pilates for recovery.
The exercise, which involves controlled movements and aims to improve flexibility and build strength, helped him get back to work after a few months of rest and several physiotherapy sessions.
"At first, I was apprehensive about trying it out because I thought it is an effeminate form of exercise. Then I started doing it on the insistence of my physiotherapist," says Ranveer.
"As far as I know, many of our heroines (such as Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor) swear by it. Earlier, I was a proponent of weightlifting and swimming, but I have realised that the benefits of Pilates are very distinct. It's a very safe form of exercise. I do it daily. It is helping me strengthen my core," he says, adding that he even recommended it to his friend, actor Arjun Kapoor.
