Mumbai, Oct. 5 -- Ranveer Singh seems to be going the extra mile in a bid to prepare for his character in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next - which also stars alleged girlfriend Deepika Padukone - Ranveer Singh may be temporarily moving out of his family home in Bandra. "(I'm) trying to move out of my place... just for my next," admits the 29-year-old actor.

Elaborating on the reason behind his move, he adds, "The film requires me to cut off from television, (have) no phone, no Internet and I honestly need to get into a certain zone. At home, there's my mother, sister and father."

Ranveer explains that for his character in the period film, he needs isolation to get in the zone and understand the role better. "I need to just cut off and get into this (completely). I can't even tell you the demands of this character. It's scary."

Even as the young actor gets set to move out, he will follow in the footsteps of Aamir Khan and Vivek Oberoi. For wife Kiran Rao's directorial debut, Dhobi Ghat (2010), Aamir had lived in a chawl in Masjid Bunder - the same one that is shown as his residence on screen - for a while. Vivek's move was a more drastic one. He had prepared for his debut film, Company (2002) - in which he played a local gangster - by living in Mumbai's slums for a few weeks.

Ranveer currently has a busy schedule, with three films to juggle. Apart from Bhansali's next, he is working with directors Shaad Ali and Zoya Akhtar, as well as listening to some more scripts. It was only recently that the actor starting doing ads as well. Ask him why he jumped on the bandwagon so late, and he says, "Ads are part of an actor's equity. I wanted there to be something (special) about every ad I do; and not just the money. Paise ke liye toh kaam nahi karte na hum (We don't work for money)... at least not me."
