New Delhi, April 25 -- Actor Ranveer Singh is known as much for his quirks and antics, as for delivering power-packed performances. And he sure enjoys all the attention and adulation he gets from his fans.
But, the 28-year-old actor feels that actors should not hesitate in putting their celebrity status to good use and support causes. "I feel actors can and should help out as and when they can," says Ranveer, who recently made news when he became the brand ambassador of Durex condoms.
While this is Ranveer's first brand endorsement, he is perhaps the first Bollywood actor to endorse this product. So when asked, if he feels he has broken a wall as he is possibly the only mainstream actor to have done an ad for a product such as condoms, Ranveer says, "I feel it's a way to promote good health and well-being. And, I'm glad it's being seen in such positive light."
When he had just signed the deal, the Lootera actor had said that he feels promoting safe sex is a social cause in itself and is happy about being a part of something like this.
Moving on to other things. Although the buzz that the Ram-Leela co-stars Ranveer and Deepika Padukone are in a romantic relationship is growing stronger by the day, the quirky actor's heart beats for Bollywood's Dhak Dhak girl, he says. "My favourite desi actor is Madhuri Dixit," and adds, "From Hollywood, I like Cate Blanchett."
