Mumbai, July 26 -- The first look of the Ranbir Kapoor-Arjun Rampal-starrer that was out in August last year might have created excitement among movie goers, but the project did not take off. The shooting schedule of the film, the directorial debut of Ranbir's childhood friend - Vikramjit Singh - was delayed. The movie was supposed to go on the floors in October last year and was to release in June this year. But now, we have been told that Ranbir has planned his schedule for the film and has given multiple dates for it.
"The entire cast, including Ranbir, shot for about 15 days in May this year, during the film's Mumbai schedule. And, Ranbir will join the cast and crew of the movie in Malaysia from August 25," says an insider.
The shooting schedule of the film is likely to resume around August 10. Buzz was that the film, which was supposed to hit theatres in June this year, would release in September. But, the date has been pushed even further. "Since Ranbir has been busy with his films with Anurag Kashyap, Anurag Basu and Imtiaz Ali, it was difficult for him to manage his dates. But everything has been sorted out now," adds the insider. Apparently, the film - also starring Jacqueline Fernandez - will now be shot in a start-to-finish schedule of over 50 days in Malaysia. "The release date has been fixed for the Valentine's Day weekend next year," says the insider. While Ranbir couldn't be reached for comment, producer Bhushan Kumar says, "We are excited that the film's schedule is taking off and everything is on track now."
