The Ghazi Attack receives UA certificate..

Based on the mysterious sinking of PNS Ghazi during Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, ‘The Ghazi Attack’ is an upcoming war film. The flick recently underwent the censor test and cleared it with a U/A certificate. The film has faced only two verbal cuts.

Two vital verbal cuts which were seen to be denigrating the Indian characters and thus, the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) has demanded the removal of those verbal cuts from the film.

A source said, “The CBFC won’t allow derogatory references to either Indians or Pakistanis. These have been removed from the Hindi version The Ghazi Attack, and the film has been certified UA.”

Chairperson of CBFC Pahlaj Nihlani says, “Filmmakers modify and adapt their films to a ‘UA’ certification. That means children are allowed to see the films as long as they are accompanied by an adult. A ‘UA’ not only widens the audience spectrum of a film as compared with an ‘A’ certificate, it also makes satellite telecast easy. If your film is certified for Adults you have to re-submit with the necessary changes for a ‘UA’ before your film is suitable for viewing on TV and satellite.”

‘The Ghazi Attack’ stars Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu, Kay Kay Menon and Atul Kulkarni. The film is a bilingual, to be made in Hindi and Telugu. Amitabh Bachchan has lent his voice for the Hindi version whereas Chiranjeevi has given his voice for the Telugu version of the film. Touted to be India's first underwater film, ‘The Ghazi Attack’ will release on February 17, 2017.
