New Delhi, June 29 -- Actor Rajkummar Rao says that he found the idea of bunking classes super exciting during his student day in ARSD college.
There are certain days in the life of students when they just don't feel like attending classes - fun takes over studies.
During my time spent at Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, from where I graduated in Arts in 2002, I found the idea of bunking classes super fun. I was always the backbencher. We would miss a class and chill in the canteen, drinking chai and discussing films. This was our favourite pastime. Many times, our discussions would lead to us watching those films.
It's okay to follow your heart during college days. Having fun is great but you must also have a goal and know what you want to do in life.
This kind of focus helps you in shaping your career. I knew that acting was my calling, and that studying well in college would help me get there. I knew that these years would help me achieve the kind of career that I wanted. This is why I didn't even have a girlfriend. In fact, I was in a relationship with acting.
I want to tell young people that college is not all about academics. Extracurricular activities are important. Do something more than just studying. It can be acting, dancing or singing, whatever you enjoy. This gives you a lot of confidence. I cherish my theatre days in college.
I was very involved with the dramatics society. I used to take part in street plays outside my college and be a part of plays in college fests too. Although I'd love to go to my college more often, I've been able to visit it only once. I got such a grand reception! The students were brimming with excitement...it made me relive my college days.
