Mumbai, April 3 -- Film-maker Rajkumar Hirani's 2009 hit, 3 Idiots, is one of the highest-grossing Bollywood movies in India.
The film, incidentally, also did brisk business when it released in China. Now, we've come to know that, owing to the popularity of the film there, Hirani has been invited by the Beijing International Film Festival 2014 (BJIFF) to be part of the jury.
A source close to Hirani reveals, "3 Idiots was the first Bollywood film that did great business, and Hirani became popular there. He is also one of the few Bollywood personalities who have been invited to BJIFF over the years. He is very happy about it and will be attending the festival that starts on April 16."
Hirani will be on the jury panel, along with renowned names from world cinema like Chinese film-maker and screenwriter Lu Chuan, Irish director Jim Sheridan, French director and cinematographer Philippe Muyl, Spanish producer Andres Vicente Gomez and parts of the film are yet to be completed and the post-production needs to begin. He will resume the work after he returns from China."
When contacted, the film-maker's spokesperson confirmed the news.
