Mumbai, April 29 -- Her first two international singles have both had an Indian connect - a reference to 'her city' Mumbai and Hindi lyrics respectively. In her third music video, actor-singer Priyanka Chopra has gone the whole hog by playing Holi and applying mehendi on a man's back in the video.
The track, titled 'I can't make you love me', is a cover of Bonnie Rait's 1991 hit. Says a source, "Priyanka is very Indian at heart and always wears her culture on her sleeve. Though the song has been shot in an international format and will appeal to a universal audience, she has added subtle Indian elements in keeping with her roots."
When contacted, Priyanka told us, "I always try and incorporate some elements of my Indianness in everything I do in my music career. For this song, I thought it would be cool to include the mehendi and Holi scenes in a way that would add value to the narrative of the video."
