After Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh granted tax exemption to Priyanka Chopra-starrer Mary Kom, the actor now hopes to get the same from the Delhi government.
Priyanka met union minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday, days ahead of the release of her Mary Kom, inspired by the life of five-time boxing champion MC Mary Kom.
Priyanka is in the national capital to promote Mary Kom at multiple locations and she took time out to meet Gadkari, the union road and highways and rural development minister, on Tuesday afternoon, a source from the Mary Kom team said.
Slated to release on Teacher's Day, the film has already been exempted from entertainment tax in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. Priyanka now hopes that the Delhi government declares the movie tax-free as well, the source added.
For now, Priyanka is looking forward to the movie's world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival where she will be present on Thursday. |
Directed by debutante Omung Kumar and co-produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Mary Kom is among the most awaited Bollywood films of the year.
