New Delhi, Nov. 27 -- Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra won Indian PM Narendra Modi's open praise for cleaning and revamping an entire village in the outskirts of Mumbai within 20 days of being nominated by the Prime Minister himself under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
"An innovative effort by @priyankachopra. It is a wonderful way to bring people together to create a Swachh Bharat. Kudos! #MyCleanIndia (sic)," wrote the PM on Twitter recently.

PeeCee even posted online an 11-minute video footage of how she and her team went around cleaning the garbage-laden area of a village in Versova - the same place where she shot Agneepath (2012). "The #MyCleanIndia video... My First baby steps into this exciting new world (sic)," wrote the 32-year-old, who's seen in a mask and fuchsia gloves as she calls her mom and the rest of her team to join hands.
"It took me a little longer than I wanted, but when the Prime Minister asked me to be one of his 'navratnas', I was very excited," PeeCee says in the video. "When I was shooting for Agneepath, I remember there are people who live here, and children who play on mounds of garbage - that is their life. Let's be honest, we are a cynical bunch of people. We always ask, 'What are we going to clean, how are we going to clean'," adds the actor, who's seen being helped by a bunch of locals, including kids, in the video. "The aim was to initiate something small to help and give the people living here a fresh start, and now I hand it over to everyone to nurture and maintain, helping us reach our goal of a better, cleaner India," Priyanka told us.
