Mumbai, Oct. 3 -- On the lines of the ALS Ice Bucket challenge that went viral a few weeks ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has nominated nine people, including Sachin Tendulkar, Salman Khan, Kamal Hassan and Priyanka Chopra, amongst others, for his Swachh Bharat Campaign.
Those nominated would have to select an area and make a video while cleaning it, post it on any social media platform, and nominate nine others to take up the same challenge.
Priyanka accepted the challenge and tweeted, "I humbly accept respected Prime Minster Narendra Modiji's challenge (sic)."
When contacted, the actor, confirms the news and says, "The Swachh Bharat Campaign is an initiative that is long overdue. This is something I definitely want to contribute to in any way that I can. We needed an impetus to make a change and this is the first step in what I hope will become a movement to clean up our act. A clean India benefits us all and if we come together, we can make a visible difference. No initiative is too big or too small... every action we take will be important. I want to make the change. I want a clean India."
The actor will return to the city today, and will be expected to take up the challenge before October 6.
