Mumbai, Jan. 22 -- Priyanka Chopra, who turned singer a couple of years back, already has various collaborations with international artistes to her credit. Now, she is singing in films too.
The actor, along with co-star Farhan Akhtar, is now lending her voice for a track in Zoya Akhtar's upcoming film. Interestingly, Farhan tells us that, almost a decade ago, he had urged Priyanka to start singing professionally.
"I remember, around Don 2 (2006), I had heard her singing. She had recorded a cover song and made me hear it," he says, recalling that while Priyanka was shooting a scene where she first meets actor Pawan Malhotra's character, she had asked him to listen to the track. "She just told me that she wanted me to hear something, and then gave me the headphones. I said, 'Wow, who is this?', to which she replied that it was her voice. I told her to sing professionally, which she finally did. After that, I urged her to perform live, and now, she's doing that too," says Farhan.
Ask him about the song they have teamed up for, and without divulging much, he says, "It's nice that we got to do a song together. She's a great singer."
