New Delhi, Nov. 21 -- These days Prasoon Joshi is hitting headlines for penning the lyrics for the anthem of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. However, not many know that Joshi wrote the anthem without even charging a penny.
"Prakash Javadekar requested me to write it... I did it as a citizen of India. When something moves me, I anyway write about it, and here, I had more reasons because this was a wonderful campaign... and this was my way of contributing for the cause," says Joshi, who is unperturbed by the criticism doing the rounds, questioning the genuineness of the campaign, among celebs. "I'm a believer... and whenever something good happens, there's always some criticism. But rather than being cynical, let's take up the cause with a positive spirit and raise some awareness," he says.
In his professional sphere though, Joshi is back to what he does best - scripting. "I'm developing a film on a historical figure," says the 42-year-old, who created waves last year after scripting the biopic - Bhaag Milkha Bhaag - on athlete Milkha Singh, apart from penning its dialogues and lyrics. Ask him if it's a biopic, this time, too, and Joshi remains elusive. "No, it's not a biopic. It's based on a prominent historical character, but it's too early to talk about it... I'm currently developing the script, doing some research work," says Joshi.
