Mumbai, April 18 -- Actor Paresh Rawal, who is contesting the general elections with a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket from Ahmedabad East, seems to be taking his political career quite seriously. He has been cutting short his shooting commitments in order to make time for campaigning.
An insider from the unit of one of his films - which is directed by Kunal Deshmukh - reveals that despite playing a pivotal role, Rawal has been juggling his schedule while shooting in India. "He took a short break from campaigning to attend the film's on-going South Africa schedule. The makers cut his schedule short so that he could return and resume his pre-election campaign well before the polling date (April 30)," says the source.
"Paresh, who was juggling his political campaigning and films, specially took a break for the South Africa schedule. We are keeping it tight for him," says Deshmukh, thankful for the actor's efforts to keep his shooting commitments. Rawal has replaced BJP's sitting MP, Harin Pathak, as the party's Ahmedabad East candidate.
