Mumbai, June 4 -- Pallavi Sharda rose to popularity last year after starring opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Besharam. For her next venture, the young actor is working on a project, which is tentatively titled Joe Cinque's Consolation, and is based on Helen Garner's book by the same title.
It chronicles the real-life story of an Indo-Australian woman, Anu Singh, who had killed her boyfriend in 1997. "The work on the film will start later this year in Australia. It's a nice change for me because I will be the only Indian in the cast comprising mostly Australian actors. I will play the lead role," says Pallavi. Talking about the character she will portray, Pallavi says, "I find many similarities between Anu and myself. I am also an Indo-Australian like her, and studied in Australia. We are quite similar in terms of our cultural milieu. I want to do full justice to the role without judging the incident," says Pallavi.
The film will be directed by Australian director Sotiris Dounoukos and is likely to release next year.
