New Delhi, May 23 -- Forget about dating, actor Pallavi Sharda, who has been linked to her debut film Besharam director Abhinav Kashyap, insists that she has not even been in touch with Kashyap post the film's release.
"I've not been in touch with Abhinav ever since the film released last year. Honesty, I'm pretty disconnected with what's written about me in the media as I've realised that rumours are part and parcel of being in the industry," says the 26-year-old Indo-Australian actor.
She adds, "I'm currently single and not even thinking about getting into a relationship as my career is my priority. But if I meet someone interesting, I'm not averse to the idea of falling in love."
So, what does she have to say to people who feel she got the role in Besharam because of her 'closeness' with Abhinav? "I laugh about such things. Because it was only after I gave the audition that I got to know that I am starring opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Moreover, such things only discredit Abhinav's judgement to cast a newcomer like me in his film and that is sad. I was cast on my merit. I just don't understand why some people are so cynical."
We further ask if she is still in touch with her co-star Ranbir, and she says: "We both are busy with our careers and hence are not in touch on regular basis. We do wish each other when our films release and we do know about what's happening in each other's life. But I don't call him regularly, " says Pallavi, whose upcoming films include a biopic on Maharashtrian scientist Shivkar Bapuji Talpade, opposite actor Ayushmann Khurrana, and an Australian film.
