Mumbai, Nov. 18 -- Moviegoers, who would have watched Salman Khan's latest release in cinema halls, must have also seen an abridged version of censor board chief Pahlaj Nihalani's six-minute video, 'Mera desh hai mahaan, mera desh hai jawaan'.

The video is dedicated to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's achievements, including the Make In India initiative and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Nihalani has been at the receiving end of backlash on social media due to the apparent sycophancy.

Composer-singer Vishal Dadlani recently posted, "The new Pahlaj Nihalani video about Sri 1008 Modiji, is an accurate visual representation of bhakts on social-media, every day. Hilarious! (sic)".

Film critic Mayank Shekhar wrote, "Has anyone seen the Modi film made by Pahlaj Nihalani playing in theatres along w/ Prem Ratan... You've to see it to believe how tacky it is (sic)".

Defending himself, Nihalani says, "Main desh ke Prime Minister se khush hoon (I am happy with the Prime Minister of India). I'm a citizen of this country. Mujhe acha lag raha hai jis speed se kaam ho raha hai aur desh-videsh mein humara naam hai (I feel happy about the speed with which development is happening in the country, and the manner in which India is becoming popular internationally).

This is because of Modiji's efforts. Agar actors ke fan club hote hain, toh we should have a fan club for Modiji. Mujhe yeh sab cheezon se koi farak nahin padh raha (If there are fan clubs for actors, there should be a fan club for Modiji as well. I don't care about what people say about me). I am proud of what I made."
