Mumbai, Sept. 26 -- In 2010, Onir made his National Award-winning film, I Am, with money raised through crowdfunding. Now, as he gets set to produce a movie directed by Bikas Mishra, another film-maker has stepped in to offer support.
Sujoy Ghosh, who saw some rushes of the film, has decided to co-produce the film with Onir. "I had discussed the film with him a long time back, when we were shooting it. In fact, I had shown him some footage as well. I think he has been keen on being part of the project since then. But, the paper signing and legalities were done last week. Sanjay Suri - who is my partner in our production house - and I are happy to announce Sujoy as the co-producer for this project," says Onir, adding, "The film is currently in the post-production stage and we are planning to release it in the first quarter of 2015."
Onir also reveals that he has been friends with Sujoy for a long time. He says, "I have helped him while he was making Jhankaar Beats (2003), and later, he acted in My Brother...Nikhil (2005). We have been friends for a long a time now, and I am glad that we are taking our association ahead by co-producing a film that we both believe in."
