Nawazuddin set to launch memoir at literature festival

Mumbai, May 10 -- Nawazuddin Siddiqui was born in Budhana, a small town in the Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

Later, he graduated from the National School of Drama in New Delhi. After struggling for many years, he finally made a name for himself in Bollywood.

This rags to riches journey will be recorded for posterity in the form of a memoir that is slated to be launched next year.

"Rituparna Chatterjee is writing the book at the moment. It will be launched next year, at the Jaipur Literature Festival," reveals Nawazuddin, adding, "The book is turning out to be interesting. We have been talking about the book almost are. So, you need to keep proving yourself again and again. Then there comes a point, when they (the media) can't say anything any more. I think, for me, that change has every day. There are a lot of things that no one really knows about me. All these stories will be part of this book."

The actor says the memoir will cover his journey till the time he arrived in Mumbai. "It will include stories from my childhood, and those about how I came to this city," he says, adding, "Till now, these incidents from my life were scattered in my mind. But now my life story is being collected in one place. It feels good."

On the professional front, Nawazuddin has wrapped up a number of films, including his next with Shah Rukh Khan (it has been directed by Rahul Dholakia), Sohail Khan's next, a third film that also stars Sridevi, and Anurag Kashyap's next. "My role in Anurag's film has been a challenging one," he says.

In fact, Nawaz's wife, Anjali, had even complained to Anurag about this character. "I had fallen ill during the shoot, but even when I was unconscious, I was reciting the film's dialogue. My wife told Anurag, 'What are you making him do? He is in character even in his sleep (laughs),'" says the award-winning actor. happened," says the Bollywood actor.
