New Delhi, March 19 -- Naseeruddin Shah is quite picky about his film roles and doesn't accept parts without going through the final scripts. That is why it comes as a surprise that the veteran actor gave his nod to filmmaker Anees Bazmee's upcoming film without even looking at the script.
A source close to the production says, "Naseer is known for demanding bound scripts, whereas Bazmee believes in script narration more, as he believes in enacting the scenes rather than reading them out. This was the difficulty faced by both of them. They had three or four meetings and finally, Bazmee gave a fantastic visual narration and Naseer agreed to the role without insisting on the script."
Naseer is supposedly reprising the role which the late Feroz Khan played in Welcome (2007). Amitabh Bachchan was also being considered for the same role and rumours were on that Rekha might play his love interest.
Bazmee says, "Naseer ji is not playing a typical don in Welcome Back. He plays a dangerous yet lovable character, someone who is supremely intelligent and funny as well. It took us two months to sketch out this role. We had a team of designers and hairstylists working for several months to finalise Naseer ji's unique look, which is being kept under wraps. He has been quite patient about the whole process."
The film is currently being shot in Dubai and also stars actors John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Shiney Ahuja.
