New Delhi, Jan. 20 -- Veteran Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty, who has been nominated as one of the five Rajya Sabha members for the All India Trinamool Congress, is yet come to terms with the announcement made by the party's leader and West Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee.
And even though he is elated with the news, Chakraborty maintains that he will never put his acting career on the backburner for his political commitments. "My first priority will always be acting as it has earned me my bread and butter. I won't ever disown it or leave it because it has given me my identity. My loyalties will always remain with the film industry," he says.
Ask him how he plans to balance his acting and political career and he says, "When I am acting, I am an actor. As an actor, I have to justify the character's demand. On the other side, I have to look into people's well-being. Now there will be two Mithun Chakrabortys in me."
