Mumbai, Nov. 10 -- For some time now, there have been rumours about Madhur Bhandarkar's next project. But now we can safely reveal that the filmmaker - contrary to reports that his upcoming project would be a love story or a sequel to Fashion (2008) - is set to make yet another hardhitting movie.
Although the film-maker is tight-lipped about the movie, we have come to know that his next will be titled Madamji. "Madhur isn't revealing anything right now. Even his team members aren't privy to the details of this upcoming project. However, in all likelihood, the film will go on the floors next year," says an industry insider.
If the buzz is anything to go by, the central character "could be inspired by a chief minister or a corporate lobbyist of India". "It will be like a typical Madhur film - realistic and hard-hitting. So don't expect him to hold back any punches. However, right now, he isn't ready to reveal anything," adds the insider.
Till date, Madhur has won multiple National Awards for his realistic brand of cinema with films like Chandni Bar (2001), Page 3 (2005) and Traffic Signal (2007). "This time too, his film will tackle a contemporary topic. He is in talks with top female stars for the project, but nothing has been finalised as yet," adds the insider.
Despite repeated attempts, Madhur couldn't be reached for a comment.
