Bollywood bids adieu to Sachin!

Lata Mangeshkar

If Bollywood biggies including Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan thronging the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai for cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s last match wasn’t enough, Saturday saw social networking sites flooded with congratulatory messages for the living legend. So, while Indian skipper MS Dhoni and his team carried the Master Blaster on their shoulders as the 40-year-old made his exit from the field, all that trended on microblogging site Twitter was Sachin Tendulkar with hashtags such as #SRT, #SachinBestEver, #ThankyouSachin.

Almost the entire Bollywood brigade including megastar Amitabh Bachchan, and other A-listers like Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma posted their emotion-drenched tweets to the cricketing gem, who’ll now be conferred the Bharat Ratna. This is what they had to say:

#ThankYouSachin you have made it possible for us to say…. We come from the same land as the great SACHIN TENDULKAR. #SachinBestEver

Players will come and players will go but SACHIN THE GREAT will keep making centuries in our memory .
