New Delhi, Aug. 29 -- Actor Kay Kay Menon, who probably ranks among the finest in Bollywood, is a versatile performer who is not bothered whether his film is a money spinner at the box office or not. "In college when you are doing arts, you don't pursue commerce too. I rather do my art and wish for the commerce to follow," he says.
Kay Kay, who has a slew of big films releasing this year, says he is not bothered by the 100 crore club, and would love it if his films managed to gain critical acclaim and make money for the producers as well.
He may be over 50 films old, but working with newcomers is never a problem for the actor. In fact, he has been left quite impressed with the younger breed of actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. "I'm so happy that they are so skilled and know their craft so well. It's not just about looking good, but acting well too. With Ranbir, there was a soul connect and we could manage to go beyond the script. For me, you rather have fun and contribute to cinema," says Kay Kay, whose name means 'Victory' in Chinese and was given to him by his grandfather. Ask him if he would like to work with his Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi director Sudhir Mishra again, and he says, "We've been talking about it. Sudhir is a very gifted director, he thinks laterally. We would love to recreate that magic on-screen."
