Mumbai, Feb. 18 -- After their last successful outing together in 2012 (Jab Tak Hai Jaan), rumours are rife that Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif are set to share screen space yet again in Rohit Shetty's next, which is expected to go on the floors by end of March. The film will also star Varun Dhawan.
An industry insider reveals, "SRK and Varun will play brothers in the film. Word has it that Katrina has been approached for the lead opposite SRK, while Kriti Sanon will be paired opposite Varun. The story is loosely based on Hum (1991), but by no means is it a remake."
While Katrina messaged saying "no" to being part of the film, the insider reveals that announcements about the project will be made in March.
The insider adds that the makers are also looking for a stellar supporting cast for the film, saying, "They need over 10 character actors. They will be seen in supporting roles, but they will each have strong, impactful parts to play in the film."
The schedule of the film will last for about three months, and it will be shot in Mumbai and Goa. The makers are apparently also aiming for a Christmas release (December 25).
The insider says, "Now that Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's next has been pushed to 2016, there's one slot open again." If all goes as per the latest buzz, then this will be the first time that everyone else in the primary cast, barring SRK, will collaborate with Rohit.
When contacted, the director remained unavailable for a comment.
