Mumbai, Jan. 30 -- Kareena Kapoor Khan was looking forward to an exciting 2014 with challenging roles in two films - the Hrithik Roshan-starrer Shuddhi and Dev Benegal's Bombay Samurai (BS) with Farhan Akhtar.
Both projects were scheduled to go on the floors this year. Call it bad luck or coincidence, but after the filming of Shuddhi was postponed due to Hrithik's health, BS too has now been indefinitely postponed.
The film won't be going on the floors in March, as planned, apparently due to "some issues with the final draft of the script". Sources contend that the production house will be busy in 2014 with Raees, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Farhan.
When contacted, the makers confirm the postponement, but insist that the "script is absolutely fine". Producer Ritesh Sidhwani says, "It's just that Dev was dealing with some personal stuff and it took up a lot of his time. He wasn't ready to get into prep and make the shoot dates, so we had to postpone the film."
So when is the film slated to go on the floors? "At our production house, we follow a mandatory prep of 12 weeks at least before principal photography begins on any film. At this point, all heads of departments need to be exclusively working towards that film. So it will all depend on Dev and the dates of the artistes, but definitely not this year," says Sidhwani.
Last week, Kareena had also spoken about how she wasn't sure about the status of Karan Johar-produced Shuddhi. In an interview to HT Cafe, she had said, "It (Shuddhi) is all a mystery at the moment. Everything hinges on Hrithik. It all depends on his state of mind. We will know when he's ready."
