New Delhi, Oct. 5 -- Censor Board chief Leela Samson recently sparked off a debate saying that songs these days "have innuendos and get away with really dirty stuff."

Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, who has danced to many such songs, however, doesn't see a problem. She says that films and songs are meant for entertainment, not education.

"People love song and dance. As for the lyrics, you don't listen to a song to get educated. You need to go to school to get educated. Watching a movie is a fun thing, going to the cinema is a fun trip for the family. You are not going there to learn," says the 34-year-old.

Veteran singer Asha Bhosle, too, had recently lashed out at the lyrics of Bebo's song Halkat Jawani (Heroine; 2012), saying that she would've never sung such a song. Kareena, however, defends the increasing trend of item numbers, "I don't know why entertaining songs should be looked down upon. Since the 60s, song and dance has been a part of Indian films. We have a living legend like Helen aunty who has done some great numbers. I've done one of her songs in Don. I think we should look at cinema like it is - meant for entertainment. It is not rocket science," she says.
