Keen to follow in the footsteps of her mother-in-law, Sharmila Tagore, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan wants to work in a Bengali film.“Satyajit Ray was one such director with whom my mother-in-law got the opportunity to work. I also hope to be able to work with some of the great directors of Bengal,” says the young Kapoor scion, who is married to Tagore’s son, actor Saif Ali Khan.
Describing Bengali film directors as very artistic and those with a deep sense of good scripts, Kareena says, “I have never been offered a Bengali film. But I want to work. Language comes as a problem, but that can be managed with dubbing.”
When asked, the 33-year-old actor said she never had the opportunity to spend enough time in Kolkata. “But I love the food over there. The city is culturally rich. If I do a Bengali film, it will also give me the chance to understand the city better,” she adds.
Kareena is currently on a promotional spree, touring different cities for her upcoming film, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein. The romantic comedy directed by Punit Malhotra stars actor Imran Khan alongside Kareena, who plays a social activist.
