KJo is nervous, scared about his acting debut!

Karan Johar

New Delhi, Nov. 26 -- Filmmaker Karan Johar, who was busy with actor Salman Khan's sister Arpita Khan's wedding, says that he's quite nervous and scared about his acting debut in director Anurag Kashyap's next film.

Apart from that, he talks to us about his upcoming production, his equation with actor Sanjay Dutt, and reveals when he will direct a movie again.

People who have seen your acting debut (in director Anurag Kashyap's film) have liked your performance.

I haven't watched the film, and I don't want to see it. I get very nervous. I'm comfortable being myself in front of the camera, but this film was something new for me. It gave me a chance to play a negative role, and that's why I took it up. I'm scared and nervous about seeing it because I don't know whether I have done a good job or not.

You haven't directed a film since 2012. When will you do so again?

I'm going to direct a movie next year for sure.

With your next production up for release, are you missing Sanjay Dutt?

Yes, he's a friend of the family, and releasing a film that stars him, without having him around, is difficult for me because I have shared a special bond with him and his family. He has never said no to me. For this film, I just had to pick up the phone; he didn't even want to hear the script. He just said, 'You're making the film; I'm doing it.' There has never been a date problem or any other hassle. I'm sure he's (Sanjay) silently praying for the film's success; and that is good enough for us.

Have you been in touch with him since his sentencing?

Yes, we are very much in touch. In fact, when he had come out (the actor was out on parole some time back), we met up.

Is it true that you've approached Ranbir Kapoor for your biopic on the hockey legend, Dhyan Chand?

The film has a fabulous screenplay. But as of now, we haven't approached any actor.
