Mumbai, Jan. 3 -- Karan Johar is known for actively participating in the creative aspects of his films. Recently, the film-maker added an emotional song in his next production, Hasee Toh Phasee, which features Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra.
Apparently, Karan was quite keen on having the song in the film. "After 'Ishq wala love' (from Student Of The Year; 2012), the song 'Zehnaseeb' is very close to Karan's heart. He wanted it to be in the film. He has brainstormed with the director and music composer to devise it in a certain way. He also went to the studio when the song was being recorded," says a source close to the film's team.
Talking about the song, director Vinil Matthew says, "The song is called 'Zehnaseeb' and it has been penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. It's an emotional song, which explores the beautiful moments between Sidharth and Parineeti in the film. Karan was very keen on having this track in the album," he says.
Karan, who is excited about the song, says, "'Zehnaseeb' is one of the most feel-good love songs I have heard. Very few love songs have such melody, lyrical value and soul." It seems earlier the song was supposed to be a solo number, but was later turned into a duet. "Initially, Shekhar (Ravjiani) sang the acoustic version. But later we roped in Chinmayi (Sripada) to lend her voice too," says Vinil.
