New Delhi, June 22 -- Television actor Sunil Grover hit headlines earlier this year when he walked out of the garb of his popular character, Gutthi, in Kapil Sharma's stand-up comedy show, to reprise as Chutki in another show. Unfortunately, his new show couldn't create the same magic, and reports about Sunil being in talks with his ex-buddy Kapil, to make a comeback on his show surfaced.
The latest buzz is that Sunil indeed reached the studios to shoot for a sequence, but the shoot was called off mid way. "It was Kapil's decision to have Sunil back on board ... the channel had not yet approved of his entry, so the shoot had to be cancelled. Sunil is now off to the US for a month. So, there's no surety if he will be back on this show," says an insider.
Meanwhile, the rift between Kapil and his host channel seems to be out in the open. After announcing on Twitter last week about the closure of his stand-up comedy in September, on Friday in an interview to a Mumbai tabloid,he was quoted as saying, "Mere ko kisi channel ne nahin banaya hai. Mere ko meri Maa aur mere muqaddar ne banaya hai." There were also reports about him wanting to do the show once a week instead of twice, which the channel did not reportedly agree.
