Kapil Sharma's show to go off air by September

By HT

Mumbai, June 16 -- A year after Kapil Sharma's comedy show went on air, it has been revealed that the next few months will be its last. The successful biweekly series that began in June 2013 will go off air in September this year.

The decision to end the show has apparently been influenced by Kapil's Bollywood film commitments, for which he needs to make more time. He recently signed a film that is being produced by Aditya Chopra. "Kapil wanted the channel to reduce the frequency of the show to once a week, but clearly that didn't work out," adds an insider.    Confirming the news, Kapil tweeted on June 8, "...going off air from september. V will come back with new characters n new set... (sic)".
