Mumbai, Nov. 11 -- Not many know that Kangana Ranaut has been a follower of Swami Vivekananda since she was a child. Now, the actor has taken a step to lend her support to the Ramakrishna Math and Mission that follows the teachings of the spiritual guru.
"Vivekananda was a spiritual scientist who believed that, for a truly progressive nation, we need to build a generation of Indians who have muscles of iron and nerves of steel. From the infinite ocean of wisdom and knowledge that he left behind, I highly recommend Karam Yoga (science of action) and Janan Yoga (science of origin)," says Kangana.
The 27-year-old has not only extended financial support towards the renovation of the hospital attached to the Mission, but also visited the Ramakrishna Mission's rural welfare project in Sakwar, Thane district. This project caters to the tribals living in the area. Kangana is also trying to encourage people to make monetary contributions towards the various welfare programmes run by the Mission. She aims to motivate them to use their skills for any service that would benefit the needy.
Swami Sarvolokaansaathi, president of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, says, "It is wonderful to see a celebrity like Kangana Ranaut support our institute. We highly appreciate it, and would like to encourage more people to contribute towards the institute in any possible way."
