Mumbai, April 16 -- Kangana Ranaut, who won a number of accolades for her performance in Queen (2014), recently added the prestigious National Award to her list.
Now, she is set to be feted in her home state, Himachal Pradesh. Sources tell us that chief minister Virbhadra Singh's team has invited the actor to attend a special ceremony in Shimla, in honour of her National Award win.
"She was over the moon when she was contacted by the CM's office, but she had to express her regret about not being able to attend the event. She has asked her parents to meet the chief minister in Shimla, and collect the award on her behalf," says a source close to Kangana.
The actor is busy completing patchwork for Tanu Weds Manu Returns, and will soon start promoting it. She is also shooting for director Nikhil Advani's film, which co-stars Imran Khan.
Kangana was unavailable for a comment, but her spokesperson confirmed the story.
