Maratha Mandir takes DDLJ down!

ust a month after celebrating 1,000 consecutive weeks of screening Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's iconic Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Mumbai's Maraha Mandir has finally decided to pull down the 1990  movie from its daily schedule.

On Thursday, DDLJ's original show timing of 11.30 am was rescheduled to 9.15 am because, according to the film's producers Yash Raj Films (YRF),  "it was becoming difficult for the cinema to accommodate multiple new releases every week with just 3 regular shows".

The statement added: "However, while the theatre management was happy to continue the film for as long as it continued to draw in the audiences, owing to logistical issues of their staff having to work inordinately long hours to accommodate an additional early morning show, it was mutually decided to end the films historic & record breaking run."

"However, this endearing and endless romance will continue to live in our hearts forever…," YRF concluded.
