Mumbai, April 23 -- Actor Jimmy Sheirgill, who will soon be seen in director Aanand L Rai's Tanu Weds Manu Returns, shares a great equation with the film-maker. The two go back a long way. Jimmy even starred in Aanand's directorial debut, Strangers (2007).
"Aanand is more than a friend or just a director for me; he is more like family. He is definitely one of the nicest human beings I've met in this industry, and his films reflect his purity... Anyone who has met him or interacted with him will vouch for this," says Jimmy, adding, "I'm proud and honoured to be part of his films."
In fact, Aanand also found a special way of including the actor in his last hit, Raanjhanaa (2013). Interestingly, actor Abhay Deol's character in the film was called Jasjeet Shergill, named after Jimmy Sheirgill aka Jasjit Singh Sheirgill.
Talking about their bond, Aanand says that Jimmy and he have always been great friends. "There are some people who will always remain special to me no matter what. Jimmy and my friendship is beyond films," he says.
Jimmy, who was also part of Aanand's Tanu Weds Manu (2011), is geared up to impress his fans with his performance in the sequel, which stars actor Kangana Ranaut as well.
Eros International and Colour Yellow Productions' Tanu Weds Manu Returns is scheduled to release on May 22, 2015.
