Mumbai, Feb. 7 -- Isha Koppikar, who was last seen in Ram Gopal Varma's 2011 production, Shabri, has been off the radar for a while. In July 2014, the actor and wife of restaurateur Timmy Narang became the mother of a baby girl. Now, Isha is set to return to the big screen with a bang, quite literally, as she has signed two action films in the south.
Meanwhile, Isha has been busy training to get back into the zone. "Before she starts shooting, she has to learn how to fire a gun, so she is focusing on that right now," says a source close to the actor.
Isha confirmed the development, saying, "I have two action films in my kitty. I play a sniper in one, for which I need rifle training. The toughest bits involve learning the different stances, like the bladed off stance or the squared athletic stance. Understanding the safest position to hold a rifle and the best way to get a grip on it is also hard."
Incidentally, this genre isn't new for Isha, as, in the past, she has been known for her edgy performances in films such as D (2005), 36 China Town (2006) and Don (2006). "I have always loved action; I've done taekwondo for 14 years, I've also learned Hapkido (Korean martial art), and now I'm learning rifle shooting. These are things that not many actresses used to take up easily earlier, but the trend is clearly changing," adds Isha.
