Never cared about film earnings: Irrfan Khan

Irrfan Ali Khan

New Delhi, Oct. 29 -- When Irrfan's films Piku and Jurassic World became massive box office hits, people from the industry lost no time in comparing him with the biggies of Bollywood-Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman Khan.

However, the 48-year-old actor says that he likes to remain grounded. "Arre log toh bolte rehte hain. Logon ka kaam hai kehna," he says with a smile.

"It's not in my hands to stop anyone from saying whatever they want to. One day they'll will praise me and my work and the next day they will criticise me. I don't get carried away by such claims, nor do I get bothered by them," he adds.

"They (the Khans) are superstars because they have been in the industry for a long time and have worked very hard to reach where they are. It's not right for anyone to compare what they have done with what I have done," he clarifies.

His film Talvar was loved by fans and did well at the box office. The actor, however, insists that he is not bothered about how much his films earn.

"I don't carry this badge of how much my films have earned. I never really think about that. The only thing I am bothered about is the experience my film has given to the audiences. Whether they liked the concept of the film or not. Honestly, that's the only thing I am worried about," he says, adding, "Of course, if your film is not earning anything, that should be worrying, but in my case, my films are also giving back revenue."
