New Delhi, Sept. 23 -- Known for doing offbeat films and unconventional roles, Irrfan Khan seldom shares screen space with mainstream Bollywood heroines. But this is set to change now, as in his next three films, the actor will work alongside some of the most commercially successful stars of Bollywood - Deepika Padukone (in Shoojit Sircar's film), Kangana Ranaut (in Sai Kabir's film) and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (in Sanjay Gupta's film).
"I don't consider any actor a commercial star or an arty actor. They are all well-established personalities. For example, Kangana has done so many different kind of roles. Deepika's (film) choices are very interesting, too. Shoojit's film has a role of a lifetime (for her). It's a wise and courageous decision she's taken. It (the film) will truly showcase her potential as an actor," says Irrfan.
The 47-year-old refuses to divulge details about his project with Deepika, only sharing that one schedule has been wrapped up, and a "longer one is coming up in October-November". About his film with Aishwarya, Irrfan says, "I've watched so many of her films and I feel she has been tremendous in all of them. I am looking forward to working with her. Now, it all depends on how the script works out." The actor adds that has "heard the idea of the film and said yes to it" in principle, but is yet to sign the contract.
"Once everything is finalised, I can officially say that I'm doing the film. But yes, it's an engaging script," he says.
