Mumbai, Dec. 18 -- To give an unconventional and personalised touch to the trailer launch of his upcoming next, Highway, film-maker Imtiaz Ali got his 13-year-old daughter, Ida, to host the event.
The director and his ex-wife Preety's daughter addressed her father as 'Mr Imtiaz Ali' on stage and post the introduction, Imtiaz took over the proceedings. "It was my idea. Usually, we see a professional anchor doing the job, which often becomes quite impersonal. The idea was to give a personalised touch to the launch. Plus, I thought it will be an auspicious start to my film," says Imtiaz.
After the event got over, Imtiaz accompanied Ida to a car. Talking about the way his daughter handled the on-stage affairs, he says, "I am very proud and happy with how she went about it (emceeing the event)."
Highway, starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda, is Imtiaz's debut venture as a producer. But the director-turned-producer is unsure if he will continue in that role. "I don't know if I will keep making films under my banner. It may or may not happen in the future. That's why the experience of directing Highway was similar to my other films," says Imtiaz.
