Tamasha is one of the most looked forward films of 2015! With ex-lovers Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor weaving magic together once again, as they did last time in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, this movie is creating a lot of excitement amongst fans.

Stills of Dips and Ranbir are being clicked and shared, and constant news about what is happening on the sets or behind the scenes of the film… People just cannot seem to wait anymore!

Well, here’s something that Imtiaz Ali would like to share about Deepika and Ranbir: "Individually, they were very suited to the role and they are very good actors. They are my friends. Ranbir as an actor is moving towards purity and it is exciting to work with him because he is so interested in his craft. I always thought that Deepika was a special actress. I have seen a big change in her post Love Aaj Kal. Earlier, she wanted to remain hidden as she is a very shy person but now she is too involved in being the character to care about the attention."

More about the film: “You meet a certain person and you are very enchanted by him. He is free flowing and your type and then you lose touch... Years later when you meet, he is absolutely somebody else. Sometimes in trying to belong, you lose your edge, you become blunt and you forget who you are unless someone comes to remind you, someone who has seen you at that time. It's not that simple because it takes the undoing of entire life's experience to get in touch with yourself and your wild energy."

He continues, "It is about not fitting in and this comes through a very personal story of these two people. What Tamasha is trying to say is that don't be satisfied with the stories you hear around you, create your own myth, choose your own story."

“There is something special in you. Don’t ignore it. Don’t change yourself to fit into this world. Please… give yourself a chance. She reminds him of who he is. He is the small town boy who has grown up in the world of stories. He belongs to that world. He is not suited to the corporate rat-race. The journey he goes through to reach himself is the stage for Tamasha. It’s a personal journey – passionate and quirky – that dismantles his life so that he can become how she sees him – the exuberant story-teller.”

Now, Imtiaz sounds quite passionate himself about the story and the meaning behind it!

And we totally agree with him! Deepika and Ranbir are definitely the best choice for a film that attempts to show wild energy…
