Mumbai, April 18 -- Huma Qureshi will be starring in the remake of the hit Hollywood horror film, Oculus (2013). To prepare for her role, the actor has been watching some classic American horror movies to get a sense of the timing and dialogue delivery of her character.
"In India, the horror genre hasn't been explored much. So, unlike the west, the actors and audiences here are not quite clued-in about the category. To prepare for her role, Huma has been watching many classic films, like Psycho (1960), Friday the 13th (2009), The Exorcist (1973), Paranormal Activity (2007), Rosemary's Baby (1968) and The Blair Witch Project (1999), among others. She wants to learn the nuances of the genre before the film goes on the floor," says an insider.
When contacted, Huma confirmed the news and said, "Horror genre in the west is extremely subtle and stresses a lot on nuanced performance. I feel the right kind of preparation is extremely important."
In the film, Huma will be sharing screen space with her brother, Saqib Saleem, for the first time.
