New Delhi, Nov. 28 -- Actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi and Paresh Rawal, who started their careers from theatre, keep going back to the stage as and when the opportunity arises. But Huma Qureshi, who has worked with several theatre groups in Delhi before joining the Bollywood, has no plans of returning to the medium.
While several actors manage careers both in theatre and on the big screen, Huma isn't interested in doing so. She says she is keen on only acting in films and is not looking at doing more theatre. Although she admits that she still enjoys stage performances, films entice her more now.
Huma, who impressed critics with her performances in films like Gangs Of Wasseypur (2012) and Dedh Ishqiya (2014), among others, says, "Theatre is an actor's medium since everything there is very instant. The moment you perform a scene on stage, the reaction comes instantly, which is very gratifying. But my love for cinema has taken over my love for theatre. Cinema has such a vast reach. There are people from different parts of the world who I'll probably never meet in person, but they know me because they have seen my work in films," says the 28-year-old actor, adding, "I guess, in that sense, I've become greedier."
