Ramesh Sippy's Shimla Mirchi is set to bring together one of the most unlikely pairs on the big screen. Rajkummar Rao will romance Bollywood’s original Dream Girl, Hema Malini in Shimla Mirchi.
And the young actor is quite excited by the prospect. "It’s an unusual film. It is a rom-com and the treatment of the film is going to be different. I am excited to romance Hema ji onscreen," says Rajkummar.
Without divulging the film’s plot, Rajkummar Rao goes on to share that he has so far "not got an opportunity to meet Hema ji, but it’s a dream come true to share the screen space with the Dream Girl."
Rajkummar adds that the makers of film have asked him to gain weight. "The movie will be widely shot in Shimla, and I have been asked to gain weight after having lost 7 kg for [my role in] CityLights. I have a personal trainer, who is working with me to help me achieve the goal," he adds.

Shimla Mirchi is a romantic comedy, and if reports are to be believed, its story is about how a single mother (Hema Malini) and her daughter (Rakul Preet Singh) fall in love with the same man, essayed by Rajkummar.
Shimla Mirchi will go on floors in mid-September.
