New Delhi, Feb. 13 -- Singer turned politician Babul Supriyo is thrilled to be recording a Bengali album with actor-politician Hema Malini. In 1973, Hema, 66, had recorded two Bengali numbers written by Mukul Dutta and composed by Kishore Kumar for an album. Babul has decided to recreate the two songs in a contemporary set up.
"The way she handled Gabbar Singh and the guns in Sholay (1975)... I was very confident that she will handle the song with similar elan," says Babul, adding that Hema, who has already started recording, is a perfect singer. "She has already proved it. We have finished recording the first song," adds the 44-year-old Member of Parliament from West Bengal.
A fresh duet sung by Hema and Babul has also been added to the collection. While the lyrics of this duet has been written by Srijato, it has been composed by Indradip Dasgupta.
