Mumbai, June 23 -- Punjabi actor-singer Gippy Grewal and actor Tina Ahuja, who will be seen together in the upcoming Smeep Kang directorial, Second Hand Husband (SHH), reached Amritsar on Wednesday (June 17) to seek blessings for their debut Bollywood film, which releases on July 3. Gippy, who belongs to Punjab, took his co-actor around Amritsar.
The actors prayed at the Golden Temple, and then had a quick bite at The Brothers dhabha. Both believe that the audience will love the social message on marriage that the film conveys in a light-hearted manner. "For me, competition from big banner films and stress of the '100 crore club doesn't matter. What matters is that I am working in a content-driven film," says Gippy. On his expected transit to Bollywood, he adds, "I haven't left Punjabi cinema. In fact, this year will see two of my Punjabi films release. In SHH, the entire backdrop stays Punjabi.
With actors like Dharmendra, the film's Punjabi essence remains intact. This won't be a shocker for my audience in Punjab. They will easily connect with it," adds Gippy. Tina wants to take her father, Govinda's legacy ahead. "I'm excited and nervous. Everyone expects a lot from Gippy and me. My father has told me to give my best, and leave the rest. I am abiding by it," says Tina.
