New Delhi, March 6 -- The star shower on campus continues, and the latest live acts that won hearts were by actor-filmmaker-singer Farhan Akhtar and playback star KK.
Farhan, a UN Goodwill Ambassador and founder of the MARD (Men against Rape & Discrimination) campaign, headlined an Amity University fest with his band Farhan Live. "I'd like to see more people come forward to support the cause with us," he said.
Meanwhile, KK performed at Kamala Nehru College on the same day. The lawns were full despite rain puddles, and young fans cheered out loud. "The reception was fantastic. I knew it would work out. Usually, I always perform when the sun goes down, but today I got up to see the sun shining. I had the sun on me, so God's been very kind. I loved it!" said the 47-year-old Bollywood singer, who sang his hits such as Pal, Yaaron, Tu hi meri shab hai, Dil ibaadat, Khuda jaane and more.
"Ladkiyon ki praarthna bahut jaldi suni jaati hain," he exclaimed, adding, "Performing in a girls' college feels exceedingly special. When you are singing romantic songs, they are singing the lines to you." Asked about what brings him back to DU every year, he said, "Students love my music, and the crowd here is incredible. It also gives me a chance to go back in time. I've had a long association with Delhi. I love the energy here."
