Mumbai, May 29 -- Romantic films never run out of fashion in Bollywood. And this is why the cast of the upcoming film, Ishqedarriyaan, is confident that the movie will do well.
We talk to the film's producer, Rajesh Banga, and the lead pair, Mahaakshay Chakraborty and Evelyn Sharma about their expectations from the movie.
The soundtrack of the film has been received well. The movie is releasing today (May 29). How do you think it will fare at the box office?
RAJESH: We started this beautiful journey with one aim - to make a beautiful and simple film, which will make people fall in love with Mahaakshay and Evelyn. I think our film will connect with everyone, and work at the box office.
Since you have an overseas film distribution company, what countries do you plan to release Ishqedarriyaan in? What have you planned after that?
RAJESH: I have done some big films overseas, which have been successful. Ishqedarriyaan will release initially in Pakistan, Georgia, Armenia and Russia, and then will move to other countries. It will also release in Africa. As for my next, I'm planning another project with Mahaakshay. This will also be a romantic film.
Evelyn, tell us about your experience of promoting the film.
EVELYN: This promotional tour has been amazing for all of us. From taking train rides to Surat, Gujarat, to making rotis at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab, it has made us go back to our roots. The best experience is when we meet our fans, as we receive their love personally. We have visited several colleges with our film's singers, Bilal Saeed and Asees Kaur, where fans would sing the song, 'Mohabbat yeh', along with them. This appreciation for such a small and honest film has really touched our hearts.
You have promoted the film all over India, and people have loved the music. What are your expectations from the film?
MAHAAKSHAY: We have promoted the film well, and it has been a beautiful journey. We have been deeply touched by our fans and the way they have loved the music. I expect people to watch the movie and fall in love with it in the same way they have loved its music. I'm hoping for the best.
