Mumbai, May 17 -- She might be only a few films old, but German-Indian actor Evelyn Sharma is already set to diversify her career by turning producer. On her recent visit to Germany, Evelyn bought the rights to a German short film, Meine Schwestern (2013). She is planning to adapt it in Hindi, reveals a source close to the actor.
"Evelyn has friends back home who are associated with the German film industry. When she went home recently, she watched a short film directed by a friend of hers - Lars Kraume - and decided to remake it in Hindi," says the source.
When contacted, Evelyn confirms the development, saying, "Meine Schwestern is a story about three sisters and their journey. It's a soulful film with the right amount of drama that a good Bollywood film demands. The director has done a fabulous job. The moment I saw it, I wanted to be in it and that's when I thought I should bring the story to Bollywood."
She is already in talks with her friends and acquaintances in the Hindi film industry on how she should go about the remake. "I am speaking with a few people about the project. Hopefully it'll work out. Everybody who's heard the story so far has really liked it, and work on the Indian script should begin soon," she says.
