New Delhi, June 7 -- Actor Esha Deol is the latest one to join the bandwagon of actors who have turned producers. The 32-year-old, who was last seen on the big screen in the film, Tell Me O Kkhuda (2011) says she always wanted to get into production.
"I always wanted to get into film production, and I think this is the right time. I am very excited about donning this new hat," she says. "We are looking at some nice, fun scripts, but it is too early to talk about it," she adds.
She reveals that her parents - veteran actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini - are very excited about her new venture. "My mom has told me that this banner is your baby, so you have to completely take care of it. Now that both Ahana and I are settled, she is focusing her energies on her political career. As far as dad is concerned, he keeps telling me, 'I want to hear the script of your first production'. If the role suits him, I will be delighted to have him play a part in my film," she says.
Does Esha, who married businessman Bharat Takhtani in 2012, plan to turn director too? "No, I think I am too amateur to get into direction. I want to give a chance to new talented writers and directors through my banner," she says.
And what about her plans to get back to acting? "Haan, bahut time ho gaya. I think I should get back to acting soon," she says. Ask her about the reports that filmmaker Boney Kapoor has expressed his wish to cast her in the sequel to No Entry (2005), and the actor says, "At this point of time, all I can confirm is that I have not signed that particular film."
